MELBOURNE
SOUND ENGINEER, PRODUCER
NEO-SOUL , LOFI
Describe your past year in one sentence...
A year of incredible growth both personally and creatively!
How did you end up as a part of the entertainment industry?
I grew up always surrounded by music. My mum was a singer and at 15 I was self taught on keys and guitar. My family fully supported me in my creative expression and upon graduating high school I went into a Bachelor of Audio Production. I always wanted to do what the boys did, I hated seeing only the boys playing guitar and only seeing guys work the desk. Which in turn has led me to where I am today haha.
Tell us about your sound and work...
I'm a live sound engineer currently based in Melbourne and have a passion for helping bands and artists achieve their best sound and get the most out of their performance. I love working with every genre of music I find the variety challenges me. Since 2020 a year in which gigs were dwindling I’ve been delving more into production both for myself and other artists. I definitely collaborated more in 2020 than I have in years and loved every second of it.

Do you have any new work coming out that you'd like to tell us about?
At the end of 2020 I started a little initiative called, Homebound Live Sessions. A live stream series to support and promote our artists during this season as we find creativity within the 4 walls of our homes. Taking all the complication out of streaming and supporting artists with live sound support and an option for ticketed events. There’s been such a beautiful response from artists and something I want to continue through 2021. The community I’ve found in the local music scene has been so special and in these unprecedented times I really wanted to do something to give back because we really are all in this together.
What or who inspires you?
My baby girl, Isla. 5 years old with enough confidence and sass to rival any 25yr old. She inspires me to be the best me for her. I hope she grows up always knowing she can do and be anything she wants to be, to always do what she loves and never let anyone tell her otherwise.
How do you practice self care?
Warm baths, wine, music and a book 💛
What’s your favourite record at the moment?
This is the hardest question! So many! I'm still loving Introspection by Umi ---- absolute vibeee and Positions by Ariana Grande-- the woman is an icon. It is What it is by Thundercat---- no explanation needed just listen!
What's the best part about being in the entertainment industry?
Doing what sets my heart on fire! I loveeee live music and discovering new artists, especially locals. It blows my mind that there is so much hidden talent in this city.

What are your predictions for the future of dance music and the industry?
I think after this pandemic the industry is exploding with new talent at the moment. They say the greatest works of art were made in isolation and some of the works of art being released right now are insane. As for the music industry in general I think slowly but surely we are progressing toward a much more inclusive environment. I would love to see more woman and GnC individuals doing what society thinks only men do because we can too and sometimes.. even better.
