WIP Project Feature Artist - Drea

Tell us about yourself!

I am still finding my sound but I am focusing on creating music where the instrumentation is just as important as the lyrics. There are only a few people who get both right and I want to be part of that crew! My work aims to be authentic and genuine, basically telling my story or others stories in a way that everyone can relate to.

What’s the last really fun thing you did?

Probably singing in Crown Towers for a work party - I didn't know how many people were going to be there but it was so much fun because everyone was enjoying themselves!

How do you practice self care?

I have started to read a lot (the Bible and 'self help books') but I also take the time to evaluate my feelings and reactions to situations I'm presented with. I also have started letting myself have off days where I do nothing work related and just go back to what I used to enjoy as a kid (sport, watching funny videos to laugh, hanging out with my family)

"I take the time to evaluate my feelings and reactions to situations I'm presented with."

What’s your favourite record at the moment and why?

Good Days - SZA. She embodies everything I would like to be as an artist. Her lyrics hit me so deep and the instrumentation, harmonies and colours she has created are incredible.

What's the best part about your job/role in dance music?

Being able to meet new people who teach you something new about music and being a creative

What or who inspires you?

My family inspire me everyday! They're so encouraging and always celebrate everything I do
